Audrey’s Dream Inc is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) corporation founded by Lycrecia Williams Hoover and partner Dale Vinicur to honor Lycrecia’s parents, Hank and Audrey Williams. Hank was the composer and soulful singer of such American song classics as I Saw The Light, Cold Cold Heart, and I Can’t Help It If I’m Still In Love With You. Audrey was his wife, the love of his life, without whose talents and drive Hank might never have left their native Alabama.

Hank & Audrey were 19 when they met at a medicine show in rural Alabama, and sparks flew from the very first. They loved deeply, but Hank’s drinking kept coming between them.

Hank died one lonely New Year’s Eve in the back seat of his Cadillac convertible on the way to a show. One year before he’d had back surgery, then Audrey divorced him for the second and final time and he’d tried to kill the pain of both any way he could. On January 1, 1953 when the world learned that the greatest of all hillbilly singers was dead, Hank’s popularity was at its peak. He was 29 years old.

Audrey took to her bed when she heard the news. Then, and for the rest of her life, she blamed herself for what happened.

Through the 1950’s and ‘60’s Audrey was a powerful force in the traditionally all male Country Music business with her own record label, publishing and film production companies, talent search, and touring all-star show. She was a tireless promoter of her late husband’s legacy and the exciting new musical career of their son Hank Williams Jr. But alcohol cut short her life, too. She died at age 52 alone in the home she had once shared with Hank and their children.

Hank and Audrey lie side by side now on a hilltop overlooking Montgomery, Alabama… back together again for good.

Audrey ran out of time, but not out of dreams. A recovery center in Nashville in Hank’s name was one dream that never came true. Until now.
